The SAN line products are made of technopolymer, which prevents the accumulation and reproduction of all unwanted organisms on the surface of the element such as germs, bacteria, mold and fungi, which are the main cause of unpleasant odors, discoloration, degradation and the formation of biomembrane on surfaces. The ALUNA® offer includes handles, knobs, wing nuts and handles.
A special technopolymer, containing additives resistant to germs, i.e. a mixture of silver ions (inorganic ceramics) makes the material free from chemicals or pesticides. Silver ions that feed on microbes get into their cells and attack their DNA, so that the multiplication process is stopped (Fig. 1). Laboratory tests have shown that 98.9% of bacteria are eliminated within 24 hours of their first contact with the surface of the element from the SAN line. (ISO 22196: 2001). The mechanism of controlled release of silver ions does not change the antibacterial properties over time, even after many cleaning and sterilization cycles.

A new SAN line designed by our supplier to prevent the global problem of microbial resistance to antibiotics. According to WHO, it is today one of the biggest threats to public health due to the epidemic and economic nature of this phenomenon.
Some bacteria, mainly responsible for infections in hospitals and health care facilities, as well as in places of public use, have high antibiotic resistance rates. These bacteria include, among others: Clostridium difficile, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, methicillin resistant Staphylococcus, vancomycin resistant Hetococci, Acinetobacter baumannii, Escherichia Coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
All elements of the SAN line have a certificate of compliance "Antimicrobial properties of materials". The tests were carried out by the CSI S.p.A. laboratory, accredited and recognized by the national accreditation body ACCREDIA. The laboratory meets the requirements of UNI CEI EN ISO / IEC 17025.

Despite the meticulous conduct of traditional sterilization procedures, especially in public places, hospitals and health care facilities, where microbial infection is much easier, 5-30% of microbial contaminants can persist on surfaces or objects. That is why it is very important to use prophylaxis to avoid getting infected. Starting above all with hygiene and frequent hand washing, which are the main pathway for the transmission of bacteria and microbes.
